My Story

I grew up in a tiny village near Milan, Italy, with an interesting twist in my cultural background. Summers were all about escaping to London to visit relatives, and I was happy to leave, as the village life already felt a bit tight for me. Having dual cultural roots sparked my curiosity to explore beyond the familiar.

Until I hit 19, my world revolved around music, I played the harp, sang in a choir, and composed music. I thought it would be my lifelong passion. I decided to pursue my career in music and went to the conservatory in Bolzano, where I actually realised, that playing compositions from other people for 8 hours was just not what I wanted to do. So I decided to go back home and teach English in Italian public schools, discovering I really enjoy planning interactive and creative lessons. Teaching kids was energetic, but I also sought a competitive career, one where I could be more creative and make a company grow.

After some soul-searching, I opted for communication and media studies at the University of Parma, solidifying my choice. During the final university stretch, I took off to Spain through the Erasmus project, interning in Malaga. There, I was writing travel-related articles for a travel agency called South Tours. At the end of my internship, I took charge of the editorial planning and article check of other interns, as well as taking on some other smaller design tasks. It definitely boosted my confidence and made me fiercely independent. In addition, after spending the first month ordering in English and had no clue of what these Malaguenans were saying, I managed to learn Spanish.

Post-graduation, I decided to hunt for a job in the UK to explore my other cultural side. I landed a job as a digital marketing coordinator at Caremark Ltd, Worthing. The experience has been interesting, a continual learning curve. In two years I have learned and developed my digital marketing strategy, specialising in franchise marketing. In addition, I have had the opportunity to take some courses in graphic design. Overall, I am confident to say I now have the tools for brand and digital marketing management.

My Interests

My interests all lean towards doing something creative. Lately, I've attended a jewelry workshop, and now I have a painting class on my agenda. At weekends, I like to go out to do some street photography or random painting at home.

Traveling is another big interest I have  (I’m sorry if you’ve heard this at least 500 times now). Discovering other cultures and learning about different traditions makes me feel alive. Especially meeting locals and learning cultural facts from them. I've recently been on a solo-trip to New York, and I can definitely say the best way to have a great time is to get on Couchsurfing and meet some locals who are happy to spend some time showing you around. This also resulted in discovering some hidden gems in Brooklyn I would never have imagined of. Another reason why I love traveling is because I love languages and how they shape us as a person. I speak English, Italian, Spanish and some German. The next challenge is going to be Arabic, if I have the courage to do it. The reason for this is, I absolutely adored Morocco when I visited, and I'm truly fascinated by their history and lifestyle.

Sports: Don’t ask me about Italian football, I have, no clue. I join a running club every Thursday in Hove, and I try to do some yoga or pole dancing any other day, but at the moment, it's quite difficult as I get home late.
